I’ve never talked to anyone. I’m used to handling things on my own. Isn’t therapy for people who are weak?
Not at all. Asking for help takes courage, not weakness. Everyone needs support at times, and reaching out shows strength and self-awareness. In therapy, we’ll focus on your strengths and use them to reduce the impact of the challenges you’re facing.

What’s the difference between talking to you or my best friend or family?
Friends and family can be wonderful support, but they may not be trained to help in the way a therapist can. As a mental health professional, I can provide:
New perspectives on your situation
Practical tools and skills you can use right away
A space that is confidential and nonjudgmental
Therapy allows you to share openly without worrying about burdening loved ones — while still keeping those relationships strong.
Why shouldn’t I just take medication?
Medication can be very effective, but it often works best in combination with therapy. Counseling helps you unpack underlying issues, develop coping strategies, and build long-term resilience, while medication can help reduce symptoms. Many clients find that using both together offers the best results.
How does therapy work? What do I have to do in sessions?
Every person is different. Sessions are tailored to your needs and may include:
Talking through current struggles
Identifying patterns in thoughts, emotions, and behaviors
Learning practical coping strategies you can use right away
Your role is simply to show up as you are. Together, we’ll take it step by step.

How long will it take?
There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. The length of therapy depends on your goals, needs, and commitment. Some clients see changes in a few sessions, while others benefit from longer-term support.
I want to get the most out of therapy. What can I do to help?
Your active participation is key. Being open in sessions, practicing skills between appointments, and sharing feedback about what’s working (or not) will help you get the most out of therapy.
